Drive Thru, Stop the Flu

2020 Drive Thru Flu Clinics are over.

Please call the office to schedule an appointment.

For EPPC patients only.

It's that time of year again... the school supplies are purchased, the kids are back in school, and it's time to come into the office for a flu shot. Or not.

It's 2020, which means even our most cherished traditions are needing to be changed. Instead of school supplies, we've had to get desks or clear space at the kitchen table. Instead of waving our kids good-bye at the school bus, we're helping them log onto school in between chores and Zoom meetings. And instead of coming into the office for flu vaccines, we are holding our first ever outdoor Drive Thru Flu Clinic. This is a much safer way to protect children from influenza while keeping everyone socially distanced and protected from COVID-19.

Since this is new to all of us, we wanted to share with you what we have planned and give you the information you need to make your visit successful and safe. Please take a few minutes and watch this brief video so you will know what to expect.

While a flu vaccine is important every year, we face some extra challenges this flu season. We are of course concerned about the possibility of a COVID-19 co-infection with influenza. This was already seen earlier this year, and a chance to avoid two serious respiratory illnesses at the same time is vitally important.

In addition, most of us have faced the conundrum of a sick family member. Isolating the sick person, quarantining the rest of the family, and navigating care and testing is not for the faint of heart! Preventing influenza not only prevents a serious illness, it prevents missed work and school, and unnecessary testing and stress.
